-This 'passage of time' is like flowing sand inside a sand clock's 'body' -

The title of this work is named after the old British saying 'Truth is the daughter of time'. What I want to bring up and the reality I feel right now is deeply related to 'passage of time'. This 'passage of time' is like flowing sand inside a sand clock's 'body'. Does the past flow into the present, or does the future flow into the present? If you hold a sand clock on your hand, you may be able to reverse or confuse the time. You could intervene into 'time' instead of going along with one way passage of time. The performance of connecting the past and the present in the little forest, which brings back people's memories, will hopefully open up the imagination of the future world.

This is a record of my performance for this tree. I made it in 2012 under the influence of shock; a shock triggered for me by the earthquake and nuclear catastrophe of 2011. I was abroad at the time of the disaster, and returned to Tokyo a year after the event. In the video I am showing the process of the transform from my body to tree trunk with the time and the space in between the tree and me, and with my wish. I wanted to give something back to nature — like a mother dressing her child. I was projecting my desired and emotions onto the tree, thinking perhaps the tree would accept my gift. In the end of the video you can see the tree dressed my cloth —this is the wish what I want to show in this video. I margined that the nature also getting big stress by it, like human feels stress, same way as we do. So I hoped my action became a gift for this tree for protecting the tree trunk.
