Paper Dance

2014

Installation (Paper, Ink, Pastel)

LMCC Arts Center, New York, USA

I used my studio space to create my new installation called“Paper Dance”as a study in body movement for installation. The view of the Water and the landscape of the buildings in Manhattan from my studio gave me a lot of inspiration for my creativity, specifically the movement of the water and the ships on the deck. At my open studio last July, I traced the movement of my body on the paper, then installing the paper to create curves. This inspiration stemmed out of the landscape that I see everyday outside the studio, also adding reference from Trisha Brown`s performance,“It’s a Draw/ Live Feed in 2008”.
