FITTER - Tokyo

2009

Lambda print (279x355mm)

Tokyo, Japan

You often encounter situations where people are packed in a tiny space in Tokyo. The businessman commuting to work and people threading their way through the crowd somehow gives the impression of stagnation. It seems as if these people are controlled by an implicit understanding. Our everyday life consists of many commitments that are intentionally created to be protected. However, it is not easy to realize what our own commitments are, and why and for whom they are created. In fact, we might be constrained by unnecessary commitments without noticing. People are packed into gaps of spaces in city centre, business district and residential area for a moment. Filling the inorganic space with people somehow creates playful.
